Speaker Bio

M.Sc. Chemical Engineering with specialization in Biochemical Engineering, University of Calgary, Canada (2005)
B.Sc. Chemical Engineering, University of Calgary, Canada (2002)
Professional Engineer, Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA)
Tony Wang is an Engineer at Amgen's Rhode Island facility. He is part of the Process & Systems Analysis group in the Rhode Island Process Development Department. He has been supporting the Real-Time Multivariate Statistical Process Monitoring (RT-MSPM) project deployed at Rhode Island and is also involved in advancing the Process Analytical Technology (PAT) initiatives at Amgen.
Tony's Master degree focused on examining neural stem cell growth behaviours during scale-up. Upon graduation, he joined Amgen in 2006. In the past 5 years, Tony not only supported the RT-MSPM and PAT projects, he was also heavily engaged in various vendor collaborations aimed at improving raw material variability as well as facility optimization and support projects in the Engineering Department.

Applications of Multivariate Data Analyses and Real-time Multivariate Process Monitoring in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
Room: 1E12 ~ 10:00 am - 11:00 am (Wednesday, March 30, 2011)
Commercial operations of biopharmaceutical processes generate large amount of real-time data that makes the interpretation challenging. The use of multivariate technology enables quick data processing and analysis of such data sets to help facilitate process monitoring and troubleshooting in real-time. Real-time process monitoring examples using multivariate approaches from upstream and downstream processes in a large-scale manufacturing will be demonstrated.
